Re: North Evo

I'm just impressed you are ever able to go upwind on a 12m in 12-13knots and not on a hydrofoil.

But to answer your question, yes that kite is "bagged out", happens with any old sails, just get a newer/less used kite.

Re: Dealing with Foil Caught in Bar

Generally occurs when you fall to your heelside and back foot, launching the foil up and into your lines.

Happened to me the other day. Horrific. Just super dangerous and if it locks in you just have to bail out and pray.

Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

i foil in shallow water regularly and 60cm is great for starting but it truly is much more difficult than a 90cm as you touchdown and ventilate frequently

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

just read the whole thread and it's essentially useless with lots of speculation. Summary: - VERY few people (including me) on here actually own the ultra or have even demo'd it. - Those who have say it's good and stable, but it sounds like the Clouds are even better for low end (although not as muc...

Re: What got you into Hydrofoiling?

1) Kiting in 10-15mph winds and having a blast!

2) The feeling of riding deep powder but in boardshorts!

3) New challenge and great for exploration at high speed

Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

No but it's definitely declining. Wakestyle is analogous to snowboarding, for some reason it's not as "cool" anymore and skiing is making a huge comeback

Re: Kitesurfing NYC/NJ/CT

Pros: Much better wind and waves than south florida. With modern wetsuit technology you can easily kite all year comfortably no problem. Lots more 'culture' than south florida in NYC. Cons: The scenery is much worse, the water brownish and usually cold, and the cost of living insanely expensive comp...

Re: Best kite specific 3/2 wetsuit

Try on the newest and best Rip Curl flashbomb and then the newest and best Oneill Hyperfreak and buy the one that fits you. Those are the best wetsuits available for surfing/kitesurfing etc, they each fit a different body type though so you have to go to a surf shop and try them on and just buy the ...

Safely self-launch with a line-mount GoPro?

I have a camrig and use it occasionally but only when I have an assist launch. The videos are by far the best you can get with a GoPro. I would like to use it more but I self-launch frequently and it's pretty sketchy self launching with it weighing/tangling on your lines as anyone who has tried know...
