Re: 5G EpicKites

What I've found is that with a strap, the depower is much smoother.

On a clamcleat, it's on/off.

Re: My first Alaia

Well... I've done a really awful work today!

110g FG and Epoxy resin.

The FG don't seem to absorb the resin and the FG seems very tight (see the edges how the FG stands).

Any ideas?

Re: My first Alaia

You mean crossing the FG's fibers with the wood's fibers? If I understand, this would balance the different strains. Nice idea.

About the layers, do you think I should fully cover the board with FG or only focus on the center of the board where there's more strains? (like RalfsB suggested).

What do you mean by "cross grain" (sorry English is not my first language  )?

Re: My first Alaia

Thanks for your messages! So you think one layer of 100-120g of FG will be enough? The board is 18mm thick max. I think it's too weak and I really don't want to break it. I've looked up some tutorials over the net on how to glass it. Seems quite easy. Just wondering how to dispose properly the FG on...

I really think I have to glass it! Do you think one layer of FG will be enough? Why not simple epoxy resin?
