Re: Hand Held Wind Meter

Here's a nice visual guide to telling the wind speed from observations, hopefully it'll help :) http://www.howtoons.com/data/orig/FE/3C/53F/FE3C53F1D96C640AF887B9D1FDB99A8FB.jpg Unless you're prepared to pay a fortune for an accurate wind meter, I find them quite unreliable (at this point I'll be sh...

Kalispell Snowkiting

Hey, I've just arrived in Kalispell, staying for a month or so and was wondering if snow kiting is still happening?
I'm working over the next few days, but I have my gear and was wondering if something's still happening.

cheers

Re: What do you call this thing?

I would have thought that an ASS bridle and a BFK kite would have set the standard already for Best

Re: Good - BAD (IKO-certified) Kite Teachers

Hey Richard, Sorry, I wasn't having a go at non-certified instructors, I was just vocalising my own experience when teaching a couple of mates. I was fully aware that I may be missing some important parts of their training, hence telling them to get a paid lesson as well to cover anything I missed. ...

Re: Good - BAD (IKO-certified) Kite Teachers

I think the IKO and organisations like it are good for giving instructors a particular syllabus to follow, although I've not had much experience with the quality of their instructors. (I haven't had a lesson for about 6 years) I've taught a couple of friends myself, but always advised them to get a ...

Re: Royal Kites 09 manufacturing fault!!

I got to agree with the "There is no such thing as bad publicity" thing, I am very curious about Royal Kites, even checked out their web site. Lol, I'd been doing the same thing. I'd even mentally tagged Doc as someone who's a) currently owning kites I would like b) obviously cares about his kites ...

Re: Nominees for Worst bar 2008-9

Again, if it's sooooo cheap and soooo easy to manufacture these parts why shouldn't the companies just include a few replacements with each $1000 kite? Its a fair point, but think of what you'll end up with in your kite bag. Several lines of rope cut to predetermined lengths. (pigtails, leaders, ch...
