Re: Should Toby start a crowdfunding to save KF?

Agree with GJibb, not sure about crowdfunding per se, but i'll happily contribute a few bucks to a patreon.

Re: How much more relaxed can it get with a modern foil?

I learned on the H5 graduated mast system and quickly bought an H4 (the old space skate). I found the slower foiling speed much more comfortable in that even if i was out of control, i wasn't super tensed up waiting for a yard sale. I'm sure you can pick one of these older wings up for dirt cheap no...

Re: Pansh Aurora 3

I don't necessarily believe in Pansh nor the Aurora III that I have, but now I feel the need to go boost on it. If the kite folds mid boost, it's on your heads.

Re: Bridle line replacement

Thanks for the info all. I ended up buying 0.8mm hollow core spectra (the cheap stuff) off of amazon and making a splicing tool with the high E of a guitar string I just replaced. The 0.8mm is a little thick for the bridle I replaced but I doubt it will make any difference. Between this and splicing...

Re: Tef gel, cooper slip, silicone for bolts

I will second tefgel not needing to be taken apart but once every 3-6 months. Froze a bolt on a slingshot hoverglide a long time ago using some kind of anti-seize silver paste. Now I use a light smear of tefgel and every month or so I check that the bolts move and haven't had a problem.

Re: depower lines and splicing

Great info all, thanks! I've just completed my first few eye splices and lock-splices. Found using only the D-splicer kinda clunky so i've got some fids on the way...a new obsession is born. That ozone video is weirding me out with all the bungee action. I understand the bungee on the safety line, b...

Re: depower lines and splicing

Why not use a lock instead of a throat whipping if breaking strength is not an issue, might depend on strength of cleating line, but I would be surprised if that were the case. Shown below without tails burried. I have no idea regarding lock vs whipping. I've never even spliced a rope yet. Just loo...

depower lines and splicing

I'm in the process of converting my flysurfer dual strap pull bar to a clam cleat without the FS kit. I'm modeling my work both on the newer Infinity bars with clam cleat but also on the depower line of a race bar I have. Both seem to have dyneema (Amstel blue?) spliced into some other type of line ...

Re: Bridle line replacement

Are you guys creating a Brummell splice with this line? And if so, using a guitar string as a tool? I've never spliced lines before but have been watching videos. Looks ok with Amsteel or something thick, but having a tough time imagining it on fishing line.
