So I was only partly correct, the 86 is thicker yes but not only at the base, it is 13 % thicker at fuselage and 18 % thicker close to base, than the 85.

That explains, so more draggy but a lot stiffer/stronger and same material.

Hmmm, maybe, but not sure it is a thing for everybody. Feeling and using the wind as power, and the love being able to fly and play with a kite (or wing or sail), and having to follow the nature whatever it comes up with, is what attracts most I think, TT or surfboard or windfoil or wingfoil or sail...

Oh, really? I'm curious what are the prices of the foils you mentioned. Naish looks similar to the Gong Curve which I'm still using for kitefoiling.
