Glad you clarified it. Many people have a broken L/D vs AoA concept, it's always good not to feed the confusion.

The long power stroke is true, but more a thing of the past: nowadays, with bridles kites, kites have better L/D at a higher AoA, so they are trimmed to speed up fast when low AoA,produce good pull when high AoA. Rudder implies primary control, or steering, via a movable surface.
Vertical stab is much more appropriate imo.

Why do we not use a sailing vocabulary? Instead we use aviation one. I thought foilboarding is about sailing seas rather than flying skies ;) Check it out: A fuselage is a main body of a plane. A main body of a vessel is a hull. Fuselage comes from spindle-shaped, whether in the air or in the water...
