Re: Is this approach safe?

Your drawing is very clear. The ring is approx 15mm diameter 3mm thick but the Ball hard to find. Kite repair or bar maker shops like kitelineshop.com have ones with strong thick plastic and 3mm hole suitable to stop à kite line and most shipchandlers sell much thinner models for the same diameter, ...

Re: Technique for stitching a long bury splice

Well done Nice splices.

As Evan said and demonstrated in the vidéo only à few stiches needed for long bury splice.
Only to hold in place when not under load.

Full stiched splices are used when bury length is short vs diamètre eg pigtails, with very dense machine sewing

Hi tilmann thanks for pushing the limits, and I am glad nuclear energy already exists so you don’t have to experiment with it. Seriously it is really interesting, I make my own boards sometimes they break that is how you learn, never had guts to experiment with kites. Where do you see the optimum be...

Re: Composite ideas and techniques video

Thanks great to get the method from a professional video . Apple tree surfboards are the only ones I have heard of making resin infused boards in one step. Superior strength to weight ratio but took them very long to master the process. Might be more feasible for a foil, a friend used to make windsu...

I actually like a lot the split front lines, to self land like you said but also to relaunch in very l...

Re: trouble splicing 1.5mm SK99 kiteline

Thanks Evan you are right indeed 16 braid is more elastic.
I got a good deal on cousin line a while ago, it was 16 braid, but noticeably stretchier and elastic.
I realized when pulling on the bar to adjust lines, and also kite control felt a bit different

There are quite a lot of second hand contras.
They are well proven, refined light wind tt kites.
Not sure about kauper's new kite.

Re: Quiver reduction thanks to lines length ?

Playing with line length is definitely useful, no weight added to the quiver. I have 10m and 7m pivot and transition btw the 2 is not an issue. 10m used with 22 or 25m lines, not only wind range but also surf vs freeride/low end. You will still likely get a 6m later for very windy days overpowered i...
