I don't see much that would make kites noticeably cheaper without getting in the way of performance and durability. Maybe those riding those monster boards don't like riding directionals, which are much better for lightwind conditions. For your size you should normally be riding a board somewhere between 130 to 140cm, and about 40cm, depending on your style. That will allow you to ride powered without losing the ...

What actually helps the most for a board to plane is the width. Both boards are 44cm wide. The extra 6cm in length won't make a noticeable difference. If I remember correctly the Airush Switch has very little rocker, which helps a lot for light wind. I wouldn't bother changing boards, your 144x44 bo...
