Re: narrow beach self launch

I think the thing is that nobody wants to use a bar specifically for that situation. Usually, we have fewer bars than we do kites. Similarly, nobody wants to carry a reel or some other piece of equipment around after they launch. I think for the time being, a "simple" drift launch would consist of j...

Re: Epic Kites 3rd Generation. 3G II

Ooooh, I like that! I like how you can swivel the lines at the loop, and I like the suicide and full release settings. I also like how easy it is to feed the lines back through the bar after a full release. Neither of my bars are that easy. 2 questions: Do you have any prototypes that I can pick up ...

Re: curious windsurf and kite

I think in my area we get along pretty well with the poledancers. Of course, I dont try to boost over their gear, but I will come right up beside them and chat as we cruise. This one guy is always there, and we have a special arrangement where we are always messing with each other. I will try to cat...

Re: new kiter curoius on trainer

My trainer was a douche that took a bunch of my money up front and left the area after teaching me up to how to body drag (poorly) a 2 meter 2 line foil kite. That's when professor youtube kicked in and taught me how to self launch a kite, and I went out and bought my 16m SB, and learned alone the r...

Re: Forget kiting- check out this

Just look what they just did on maui over the weekend windsurfing still rocks http://vimeo.com/52437030 Meh... Poledancers. I remember trying windsurfing a couple times on a friend's rig, and I got to the point where I could stand on it and get it to stay upwind, then I fell off the back...

Re: Kite Companies You listen!

Hard to argue with either of the video methods. My 16m SB is a bitch to roll because it's just a lot of kite, but I'm going to have a try at tacoing it and rolling from the trailing edge like the video. The biggest problem with my SB is the struts near the wingtips won't deflate easily. I have to kn...

Re: Epic Kites 3rd Generation. 3G II

Dimitri, what is the main differences between the 2011 bar and the new Epic bar? I'm not liking my 2010 Liquid Force bar much with my Screamer because it has no swivel at all. It has plenty of depower, but the lack of a swivel pisses me off. The Cabrinha bar I have for my 16 has a swivel, way up on ...

Re: Epic Kites 3rd Generation. 3G II

I just got my Screamer 12 yesterday, and took it out in 25 knots and overhead waves. Holy crap! I thought I remembered it from when I demo'd it a while back, but I was wrong! I was just completely lit. I was ripping upwind with the kite parked really high (at about 11), and just a twitch of the bar ...
