Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Oh man, a lot of the lower elevations that don't always have good coverage are loading up. It's fun to get out to spots that don't usually work. Today I had work out west so I decided to sneak in a sunset session at one of our summer liquid kite spots. HUGE area covered with a foot of untracked pow....

Re: Wetsuit question - tight ankles

Do you have cankles (calf-ankles)? I do. I look for wetsuits that have a short cankle zipper or velcro flap closure. Or drysuit with built in booties.

20220107_164209.jpg Well, our family ditched winter, covid, and school last year in La Ventana and had a muy buen tiempo. This year we are back for all three. In southwest Colorado, it turned into winter very quickly over the holidays after a prolonged fall. It is great to be back in the powder! Gr...

Re: New to snow kiting

Both the above comments can be correct. If you're riding an icy/ hardpack fast frozen lake, you can and should ride a smaller kite especially when there are many hard things around to hit! But when the powder piles up you'll need a bigger kite for more grunt. I'm just over 200# and fly a 15 and 17 a...

Re: Hardangervidda snowkite accommodation

It would be most convenient to fly to Oslo then rent a car for the several hour beautiful drive up the f...
