Apparently you need to join the Crandon Park Kitesurfing club, and get a card.

I don't know if they test you first or something like that...

I have heard Ram air types are best because inflatable could burst much easier if they hit the ground, plus the bladders get brittle in cold..

I just bought a 8.5 meter Air Bliss Ram Air kite from a bloke at the beach here in Ft, Lauderdale FL.

Wondering if anyone has tried these yet, the comapny is reallly small..?
