thx for your advice! The Spinlock has to work fine because i am going to do my first jumps right now:) YIPIEEEE Just to be sure that you know - a stopper isn't necessary for jumping. It can be helpful if you want to do one or no handed jumps but if you're just starting to jump then you'll probably ...

There's no harm in trying.

If you flatten the overall profile too much with the bridal the LE will flatten while the TE stays regular C kite shaped. This will reduce power overall and slow result in slow turning.

I'm taller but lighter than you and ride a 122 as my main board. Its fine if the breeze is up over 13-14kts but below this the amount of power required means using bigger kites or the occasional stall/dip. Unless you get consistently strong winds I'd recommend sticking to something over 120. On the ...

I saw a three line kite in new cal. Looked very stable but turning was really slow. Maybe that is the problem? If the Y bridle is short and the single line long then the kite has a tendency to rock around the intersection of the Y. I think this slows down the turning because it allows the kite to r...

I think the gap between bows and C's will continue to narrow. The C kites will work on depower and range while the bows will work on turning. With hybrids thrown into the mix it is now possible to pick a kite almost anywhere in the spectrum from C to bow, its just a question of what the manufacturer...

I think board improvements have slowed down a little. The changes are incremental, not revolutionary. Snowboard construction and controlled flex are common now and some manufacturers have been doing this since 2004. If you're happy with the board then I would disregard the marketing hype and keep ri...

Making molds for the board would be a lot of work. They would need to be very strong and dimensionally exact. As mentioned above, this is fine for a manufacturer but a hassle for a low volume builder.

Good luck if you decide to go ahead. I'll be interested to hear how it turns out.

I've rescued a fifth line kite by grabbing the fifth line near the bar in one hand and dragging/riding in from there. I was reluctant to get anywhere near the kite itself as it was tumbling and the lines near the kite were moving around a lot. Any flag-out leashed line would have been fine. I think ...
