Re: High wind foiling

Rnelias, Single strut kites feel less grunty and they offer a much lighter pull feel when compared to kites with 3, 4, 5, 6 struts which tend to feel heavy and more powerful. When I was into boosting with the foil, I would use kites with 3 or more struts, but for carving, freeriding, waveriding my p...

Re: What size wing to start

JohanH, I am a fraction lighter than you, and been wing foiling over 2 years. I also would recommend the 5m as your first wing for the 15-20kt wing range as this would be my size choice even now. Yes a 4m is a little bit easier to handle than a 5m, however a 4m in the sub 20kts becomes a lot more ad...

Re: is high wind winging any good?!

low wind wing foiling can be fun. Determining what low wind is very subjective... I find windsurf foiling (race gear) and kite foiling can be at little more exciting than wing foiling as one can be more loaded in the light wind ie sub 13 conditions, but saying that if there was some decent swell in ...

Re: is high wind winging any good?!

Thanks IWB2, I’m concerned how the small wings will work as when manufacturers shrink their kite sizes with little testing it doesn’t always work. All well and good having a design that works brilliant as a 5 mtr, but will it also work as a 2.5? Just have to wait for some real world reviews of smal...

Re: is high wind winging any good?!

Wingfoiling in "high wind" can be a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy foiling off the wind and you have the right gear setup . I would definitely add a smaller wing to your quiver to ensure you have the control needed when winging in stronger winds. I had to add the 2.3m Ozone Wasp V2 to my collec...

Re: Ozone Enduro and Ozone Alpha overlap

ScottKd, Had my 2nd go on the Alpha V2 8m on a TT playing around in the surf in 21-25kts onshore winds. Other riders were on 9-14m. Wasnt sure if it would be enough power, but it was fine ie moderately powered. The Alpha V2 loops and turns great and was a lot of fun carving the waves. I did not jump...

Re: Ozone Enduro and Ozone Alpha overlap

ScottKd, Yeah sounds like you need 3 kites. 2 kites for TT and 1 for foiling when really light. Not sure your weight or TT board size but 10/8 Enduro or 11/8 Enduro might be the way to go for TT riding. The Enduros can easily be used for foiling, however once you use a kite like the Ozone Alpha for ...

Re: Ozone Enduro and Ozone Alpha overlap

Scottkd, yeah like the others have said... In your specific situation with you wanting your 2 kites to work for both TT and foiling then have the 10m Alpha v2 and Enduro 8m V3 for example as the Alpha will give the better lightwind performance especially when foiling over the Enduro, while Enduro 8m...

Re: Ozone Reo V6 normal or problem?

Something sounds off. As a double check, have a check on your bar line lengths, especially front lines.
