Re: Renegade "Infinity" light wind machine

I think a very important consideration for light wind kites is relaunch in light winds. While many kites can perform well in light winds, how many of those kites re-launch easily if you dropped it. The Infinity relaunches very easily even in very light winds. This gives you confidence to really go a...

Re: Why are there no double surfaced inflatable kites?

Jet flaps on Flysurfers are similar to slats and slots on aircraft, Ocean Rodeo also has them but markets it as Venturis... I have flown both. The whole idea of slats and slots, venturis and Jet flaps is to re-energise the airflow when the airfoil is close to a stall. Or to delay the onset of a stal...

Re: Why are there no double surfaced inflatable kites?

Most of the lift generated by an airfoil is from the top surface. While the bottom surface does affect the lift, it is much less, about 20 to 30% only. So it is a compromise of whether it is worth to add the bottom skin and get an additional 20%. But most likely less because of how well you can prof...

Re: No, you should not kite in this...

Just a reminder for the many newbees entering this sport these days... I think Toby was specifically reminding the newbies not to kite in storms. Although it would be good advice for all kiters as well. Enjoy yourselves if you wish to take the risk, but don't go telling people that there's no harm ...

Re: Advice, first time kite buy Asia!! What size?

Hi Toby General rule of thumb for beginners is small kite big board. Safer that way. 1) One kite set up - 12m kite with a 138X39cm board 2) Two kite set up - 11m & 13m with 134 and 140 board Try not to buy a kite that is too old, more than 2 or 3 years old. Newer kites generally have a bit more powe...

Re: Home Made Board Rack

Looks nice... you can also add some neoprene pipe insulation for additional protection for the boards.

Also nice board collection, How does the Ocean Rodeo ride as compared to the Flyboard?

Cheers
