Sold my little hi-tech instrument biz (semiconductor) to a foreign company last summer. Agreed to stick around for 2 yrs but it has been a lousy experience so far. :( Really limited kiting-family time. :( :( Bought a canalfront home on the sound side of Kill Devil Hills (Outer Banks) last fall. Bail...

First day out with my W20. I mostly kite in the shallows so I just kited out to a decent spot with the camera and tripod and ran video. This is yesterday in Nags Head. Resolution isn't the greatest from screen captures but you can follow sequences nicely. Seems you need to do your moves close to the...

What do you do with warm air temps (60 F or so) and cold water (high 30's)? Wet or dry? It's not completely uncommon in the spring around here.

I'm not selling any of my 06 waroo's,but I added a 11-C (yarga) to try some freestyle in sub 20knts . The new flexi Atoms are very similar to the 06 Ions so I'd say keep them. As flexifoil is very well built why not add an Ion 2 9mtr to your Quiver? I am sorta leaning towards keeping the 06 IONS. I...

Worth upgrading from a decent 2006 SLE?

I have 2006 Flexi ION's (15 and 12) and have been very happy with them. Kiting 5 years now. Since the 2007 pimping has begun in earnest I'm hit with the same old delema, is it really worth the upgrade (hangtime, windrange, etc) so soon or do I wait for more serious changes, and my current kites to a...

ET-NIM, I encourage you to go to Bahia Honda, just a couple of miles south of Islamorada. Do a google search on it. -Danny Last time I checked with the Park Rangers at Bahia Honda, kitesurfing was not allowed from park grounds. If you stay at Sunshine Key RV campground (between Bahia Honda and 7 mi...

I've done a fair number of short trips to both places. The issue here is not SPI or Keys, it's planning with short enough notice to be certain the winds will blow consistently while you are there. Planning for just a few days weeks in advance can easily set you up for getting skunked in either locat...

Just got back from a 4 day visit. Just as awesome as the pictures. Please note that from the Ikarus site right out to the where the road ends there are some occassional tree limbs below the surface. Just a few but enough to keep an eye out. The Ikarus guys charge 50 pesos to use their site or you ca...

Best cure for seriously damaged tendons-ligaments

About 8 yrs ago my lower back was in horrible shape due to never properly healing from surgery on a ruptured disc 6 years earlier. I could barely function let alone do sports, and was facing a second fusion surgery. I flew around the US talking to the best specialists I could find and reading up on ...
