Re: From which jumping height the heliloop is mandatory?

My view: It’s not so much jump height than it is wind speed/strength, or at least a combination of the two, i.e. the stronger the wind, the higher you jump. Problem is with really strong wind when you re-direct, the kite is in the power zone as you land and you get yanked fast downwind and usually c...

*megaloop so that it finishes exactly when you touch water. The problem is what if you are off by a meter. So you tighten up your *megaloop so it finishes quicker and then you need to finish with a heliloop.

Re: foil attached to twintip

It might work but why do it? It is going to flex like crazy it won't be pleasant it won't have much buoyancy it will be really hard to learn to switch your feet why not get a proper board! Only one reason: traveling. With this set up you can have 1 kite (9m inflatable), 1 board (twintip) and the hy...

Re: OR Flite Self Launch Mishaps

Pull the upwind bridle (the one closest to you, which I think is the one tangling in your case) from under the kite/leading edge bladder to in front of it before you walk to your bar. This way it stays clear of everything.
Try on a lighter wind day first to make sure you get it right and it works.

Re: Worn kite or something else - Cabs

That doesn’t look like general wear but more likely a specific incident. Looks like line burn from the lines/bridles rubbing the canopy while kite being rolled in waves, inverted or something like that. Similar to line burn we see on parachutes. Or could be something else (maybe on the beach, or a b...

Re: South Africa first timer

Yes, it is extremely crowded, and getting worse every year. So much so that, from about mid Dec until after KOTA, I try to avoid the stretch from Dolphin Beach past Kite Beach up to Doodles, which is prime area for big air boosting. The mix of herds of downwinding directional riders (who typically t...

High wind hydrofoiling

Hydrofoiling is normally associated with lighter winds. Personally I would rather be boosting big or wave kiting when it starts getting over 20 knots, but I’m thinking for the upcoming season when there’s lots of wind for days on end I might wanna try something different. Anyone here foiling in high...

A quick watch if you find all the kiteballetgymnastics boring like I do - you just need to watch part 1.

Does 'already warped' refer to dihedral? Or how did you get the dihedral?
