Re: Self launch and self land option

[/quote] I am thinking that if you release a normal closed cell twin skin kite on to a 5th line with fully pressurized cells in stiff winds, it may rip the middle seam in half as it suddenly folds in two under pressure. my hyperlinks which are dual mode kites, the instructions warn not to operate th...

Re: Self launch and self land option

I understand how some guys are against the hook on the rear bridle and would rather/strongly recommend: 1. using the backstall method 2. emergency centerline 3. edge of wind window and then backstall I sorta wish kitesurfing was popular enough around here that there was more than 1 or 2 guys on the ...

Re: Self launch and self land option

Sorry you don't like it. I'm self employed and spend the weekends with my family. I always have to kite alone. There is never anyone around when I kite during the week. So I've had to add extra tools to my tool box to make life easier.

Re: Self launch and self land option

Now try it in lets say 20-22 knots. Or the pipe will drag along or the kite will rip to pieces. Nice idea but for -10 knots only. Wrong. I use it with my Hyperlink 12meter in wind from 20 to 25 mpg. No problems, no damage, and the result is NO birds nest of wrapped and knotted lines like you usuall...

Re: Self launch and self land option

Interesting DYI project. When you land the foil kite when it's at its maximum wind limit do you do anything different during the landing process? Have you noticed any wear on your bridle lines. I haven't seen any change to the bridles. I added black duct tape to the pvc joints because they have a f...

Re: GoPro line mounts

I finally have some time to play around with the Shapeways mount and my new 360 Max. The mount feels reel rough and the grooves for the lines feel sharp. Anyone else have any concerns about the lines getting cut from this mount?

I also have a Beastmount that might be useable.
