Re: Ride Engine Harness feedback..

I was going to drop a few clams for an Engine, but I asked some riders for their opinions before doing so. They ALL love the way it fits and feels, however one person had his delaminating after less than one season. He had sent it back, (and as we live down under it takes time for the turnaround) an...

Re: Self landing onshore gusty winds Maui

well at least you made it to the narrow section of beach instead of Pier 911. As others have mentioned, keep your kite low and just as it reaches the beach punch to safety and pull yourself toward your kite. Assuming you lost ground and could not get back up wind you should be headed to Action beach...

Re: 12m - 13m size dilemma for waves

I ride the Griffin Trx 2014 kites, I can be in overhead waves in 12 knots, and can handle 20 easy with it. One of the best gust handling kites I have ridden. Plus they turn VERY fast. I can loop down the line one handed. I know there are tons of great kites out there, but this one is well worth tryi...

Re: Naish Gun 2012

I would say the Russian is spot on. Not too many takers in double or triple over head waves. I have a 6'1 18 inch pin tail for just those days. On a normal day the board is a bit slow upwind. But when its big and howling it tracks up wind no problem. These are the days where you just can't ride with...

Re: New BRM Cloud Bridle Setup - Your Experience?

and there in lies the rub.^ Having been working with another designer of kites for the last several seasons I have been testing bridles. With wing and bridle geometry millimeters make a big difference. I am always stunned how a kite can react with a movement of a few mils in either direction on how ...

Re: camping roadtrip in Baja

First of all, don't buy into all the fear mongering hype. Be sensible, and it looks like you are doing your research. I am from Baja, moved to Cali when I was 11, and have been in Oz for many years now. I still travel alot through all of Mexico. It is no different to any of the many countries I have...

Re: green kiting?

Changing the perception of a consumerist society is what must be done. I drive a 23 year old Kombi, half a million kilometers on the same engine that has never been touched. People ask me when am I going to get a new car? I ask myself when will I ever need to rebuild the motor? Still doesn't burn oi...
