Re: Kitesurfing waves in July/August

come to Sri Lanka or Thailand . Sri Lanka 100 % consistent wind. C'mon Stefan, he said that he is looking for big waves ... Sri Lanka has a couple of nice flat-water lagoons so if that was what he was looking for Sri Lanka would be right on target. :thumb: But the waves are short-distance, wind-dri...

Re: Rib Injury Sucks

If the injury is in the lower part of your ribs, off-center, and you can feel and see the rib popping back and forth between two positions, that may actually be a good sign. It could mean that what you have might not be a broken rib, but a stretched rib cartilage. That would be "good" in the sense t...

Re: what trick next

Work on the basics and build from there. Practice making small "pops", in other words, digging in the edge and "popping" off the water into a small jump without moving your kite. Start small, even a five-inch pop off the water is a good start, then later try to dig in the edge of the board more to l...

Re: RRD Obsession 2012 vs North Evo 2012

"Best" is a strong word. Best for what? Freestyle, waves? What are you looking to do, and in what conditions do you ride? What do you like and dislike in a kite? The two kites you mention are quite different in many ways.

Re: RRD Obsession 2012 12m vs North Rebel 2012 12m

I have read good things about the North Fuse. How about the Blade Trigger? The other one that resonates in my mind is the RPM. How do these three kites compare to the RRD Obsession or the Rebel? I have not tried the North Fuse or Blade Trigger, and I've had only about 30 minutes on a SS RPM, so I d...

Re: pimping flysurfer with ozone bar.

About that landing strop - I can see how it would make it easier to backstall the kite through the power window to self-land it. Does the landing strop have any drawbacks? Looping the kite is still fine, right?

Re: RRD Obsession 2012 12m vs North Rebel 2012 12m

I've owned both RRD Obsessions and North Rebels. - Durability: I have heard mixed reviews about the durability of RRDs. I understand North Rebels are as durable as they get. Any views? My RRD Obsessions didn't last nearly as long as I would have liked (with stitching and canopy material starting to ...

Re: Best kitesurfing and "familly" spot in Asia in February

thanks for your reply. I checked Hua Hin but it sounds kind of ugly when i look at a pic could you confirm ? You mean "ugly" as in not beautiful? Well, the Hua Hin beach area hasn't struck me personally as being particularly ugly, but I don't know what your beauty standards are. I'll concede that i...

Re: Xenon Boards 2012 Reviews anyone?

Dimitri, You were involved in the development of the Skywalker boards, right? Those have been my favorite twintip boards to date. How would you say that the Xenon boards compare with the Skywalker boards (in terms of quality of build, ability to handle chop, ability to load and pop in various condi...
