Re: Penta TX = Apex?

It seems PentaTX is the same fabric named by Elev8 as DyneaTex I've read about it. I'm trying to find where and will update when I find. Interesting. They feel different to the touch so I had assumed they were different fabrics. I understood that the Airush fabric was the same material (process) as...

Re: (European) car for kitesurfing?

Interesting. Looks like Thule do something a bit different. My borrowed one had the traditional U bolt fixings. I never really trusted the mounting anyway so used to then tie the roofbox onto the roof rails as well. Probably comes from my windsurfing days when I would be driving at 60mph into a 30mp...

Re: (European) car for kitesurfing?

Thule has a very nice roofbox crane that can be setup in the garage, makes removing and storing boxes very easy I would suggest its easier to unbolt the roof rack than to undo the roofbox from the roof rack. It was certainly half the number of bolts last time I used one. If you live in a country wh...

Re: 9m Core XR Pro vs Harlem

The local Core kites rider at my beach upgraded from the XR7 to the pro. He's absolutely loving it. He's a guy in his 50s who primarily loves big sent jumps and a few grabs and rotations. He has a big grin every time he comes off the water. If Core is what you are used to then you will love it. Chan...

Re: (European) car for kitesurfing?

You can always use a roof box for the boards and some stuff, they are different sizes, so you can choose. And you can put it on and off when you need or don't need it :) Nobody ever takes roof boxes on and off. Its a theoretical thing only. Its the middle of winter in Europe and I still see people ...

Re: (European) car for kitesurfing?

I'm in, but I'm lazy. Which electric bicycle and trailer for kiting? How far, how fast? Also, forget the trailer (IMHO) I believe you are US based (?) so Bafang BBSHD is a good starter. Cheap. Relatively reliable. Throttle option. Will probably do 25-30mph happily (though not all day in hot tempera...

Re: Evo D/lab 2023-2024 changes?

Personally hoping the evo sls gets more the shape of the dlab to be a bit more reactive. To me it always feels it steers with a bit of the delay. The material change might have to do with the "different design" I thought they moved away from that? The 2021 Evo SLS was supposedly too reactive and to...

Re: (European) car for kitesurfing?

B6 passat estate tdi. Cheap as chips to buy. Runs on chip fat. Same boot area as a Ford Mondeo estate but nicer interior for equivalent age car. Or Get a board bag. Most cars are wide enough to fit boards width ways across the back seat. Board in the back seat. Kites and wetsuit in the boot/trunk. M...

Re: difference between rebel/rebel sls/evo/evo sls

Dropping the line length from 22 to 20m on the 8m Evo makes a big difference to how powered you feel. With 20m lines I don't feel like I need to apply any trim until 35knots. At that wind strength though, the water conditions will make the biggest difference to how comfortable you feel. I've happily...
