Re: Is zeeko blaster foil a flop?

For starters the Blaster is an entry level foil aimed at those who want to get into foiling on a budget so maybe not the same people that post here. The XXLW Spitfire is a true contender in the big wing high lift arena and with a comparable lift to a 1500cm2 conventional foil but with maybe only 53...

Re: Ram airs crash in 2018

Pumpy, you should put your enthusiasm and propaganda into something useful for humanity. If you campaigned against the automobile, you'd have the potential to save some serious lives. In the USA alone, 100 people die every day in car accidents. What a load of drivel about ram airs. Kiting is potent...

Re: First kit question

Greetings, do yourself a favour. Buy something new. 2008 is 10 years old in construction an material. If you are the the type of guy that is fixed on brands, find something from 2018 in some onlinestore, but new. Don't follow brands you know from windsurfing. This is a differnt story here. Other bra...

Re: DIY Thick surf foil wings

I printed the back wings with 0.32mm layer height (highest possible with 0.4mm noozle). I used 4 outer shells and 80% infill. For the front wing I used Simplify3D and used its variable settings feature where you can set different infills and skin thicknesses for different Z heights. Do not have the...

Re: DIY Thick surf foil wings

I uploaded it to thingiverse (including the Fusion 360 file and step). https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3026918 I designed it using Fusion 360 and used the H105 profile. More on the profile here: http://www.tspeer.com/Hydrofoils/h105/h105.htm Fusion 360 has plugins to plot any airfoil, and using t...

Re: Do I really need a hot coat?

Greetings, yes you need it. Epoxy will be hurt by water, sun and sand. Epoxy will be whashed out and you will remaind with the fibres. The goal is not to have a glossy finish, this is nonsense anyway. Protection is the goal. Due to the fact that you do not have peel pley on top, I would suggest in t...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

this is all about politics...nothing to do with kiting. Keep it kiting or it will be closed. Hi, if this gets out of control an it looks like it will, kiting will be our smallest problem in the future. If censorship is the right way, you have to decide. Unfortunatly history repeats itself and the p...
