Re: The best way to get to the colapsed kite at the water

Not a great idea, your board could act like a sea anchor and give the kite enough line tension to take off, and a kite looping with a board attached would be a hazard to others. never really gave that any consideration ....mostly because I'd only done this in weak ass winds. I must say trying to ge...

Re: Lofting/Deadly Dragging

. . At any rate, when I saw one of the 4 didn't HAVE a kite leash, I couldn't resist asking him if he had one. Since I was just in shorts and he wasn't sure if I was a kiter, he pointed to his red line attachment at the CL and said that was his leash. When I then asked him if he knew what the purpos...

Re: Lofting/Deadly Dragging

. the problem is the lack of education towards danger. For most schools it is more important to get the people going then them being safe. Courses should be longer and have more education about safety and weather. Using the quick release should be first thing to learn, not flying the kite and the wi...

Re: Industry Support for Access Issues

. ............ If I had a kiteboarding company I would work diligently but I would certainly not post it here. Mostly because of the out-pour of pure manure that comes as a result. ................... There is a man who lives In The clouds. Now prove to me there isn't. .......... Now I understand th...

Re: RichardM's Delivers!!

That's the crappiest looking website, ever. Is this some kind of joke? Beauty's only skin deep. Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm not too upset that if you were a prospect, that you'd end up at my competition. Richard M. Malibu Kitesurfing - since 2002 (310) - 430 - KITE (5483) http://www.Malibu...

Re: Industry Support for Access Issues

Why do you guys assume that nothing is being done by industry? Just because they do not post it on KF? If I had a kiteboarding company I would work diligently but I would certainly not post it here. Mostly because of the out-pour of pure manure that comes as a result. Can you point to any source co...

Re: Industry Support for Access Issues

Use the Open source database encouraging proactive solutions and education in kiteboarding. I initiated this because I started to see a conflict of interest between industry and the actual riders. Obviously the word death/fatal/ injury.. are not positive for business (this website is a business too...

Re: Industry Support for Access Issues

. Where is the industry support for access issues? I wrote a long thoughtful email about this before that no one seemed to care about. I bring it up again given the escalation of the Maui issue. Rock climbing is another sport that had serious image problems and some high profile access issues. There...
