Re: Who is responsible for kite when landing?

Shame on us, but my wife and I do this all the time. She launches my kite, I then walk out into the water and set my kite on the water away from shore, it sits at the edge of the window 90% depowererd. She walks out and hands me her kite, unwinds her lines towards shore and I launch her. We do the ...

Re: Kite Questions

I took lessons from a couple different shops. I used my gear once I got to the board riding stage and the shops were happy to teach me on my gear regardless of what brand they were selling. If you are saying that the instructors won't teach you unless you buy their gear it sounds sketchy and I'd pro...

Re: That moment when ......

Each situation will be different but in general if I see the kite dropping out of the air out of control, Hindenberg style, I reach for the quick release. I'd rather have my hand on the eject and be able to flag out the kite to hopefully keep from damaging myself, other beach goers, or my gear. The ...

Re: kiteboard death spiral, agh

Consider a North or Slingshot bar with metal parts. Metal parts are not an improvement. The most reliable chicken loop release systems are not the ones with lots of metal parts. When sand and salt and snow and mud and ice are a factor, the more basic chicken loop release like Ocean Rodeo, and Wainm...

Re: Is a bi-directional Alaia possible?

I'll have to give the skim board a try. I've heard of folks using skim boards but haven't tried one myself. I've thought about grabbing one of the cheap ones from local store and give it a go just for grins. At $20 it would be worth it just for the lols. What I don't understand are the skim boards t...

Is a bi-directional Alaia possible?

I picked up a Naish Alaia to mess around with and have ironically spent more time that board since it showed up than my TT. This has been my first experience with a surfboard and kiting and I have been loving it. The board is a lot more stable than I thought it would be. My issue is getting the turn...

Re: Strutless kite trend

I haven't seen this sort of back stalling out of my cloud. I wonder if its a bar setup issue rather than a strutless kite design issue.

REAL talking about the Trip.
