Tybee Island kiting

Hi guys, I will be in Tybee Island for a wedding in early October and wanted to bring my kiting gear with me. I'm looking for local info on what size kites and boards to bring with me. I tried contacting both local kite shops and neither one bothered to respond to my request. Guess they were too bus...

Re: The Good old Waroo's vs ???

My 2 cents worth of WAROO experience.

I have a 2006 16m that is great as a lightwind kite. I fly it on 30m lines and it rocks for the super light days....for a fraction of the cost of a "new lightwind specific" kite. If you can get one in good shape, go for it! I love mine!

Re: Cape Hatteras learn to kitesurf

Just give Ty Luckett a call at KiteHatteras.net One of the original Hatteras crew from way back, and he has the best training setup bar none! I send everyone who asks me about learning to Ty, and every one has been more than happy with the level of instruction. He is old school (grey hair) and is a ...

Paul,

You are a true inspiration, and have my utmost respect sir.
My wife just watched this movie with me and said "that's you in 30 years"!

Keep riding and having fun, that's what it's all about.

Re: Surboards with a Mako (OR) bottom.

BWD, Nice Paipo rendition there! Yes, with the combination of the concave bottom surface and the fins, it tracks very nicely. My board came out quite stiff, I used what Greg recommended as far as glass weights and layers. The concave runs right from the nose of the board all the way to the tail. It'...

Re: Surboards with a Mako (OR) bottom.

Hi guys, In response to the above about the Paipo/Shinnster having a flat bottom surface. I just finished making my own copy of a Paipo, with Greg's permission and help, and it has a MAKOish concave bottom surface. Last week I had an epic time in Hatteras where I rode my new board in all sorts of wi...

Re: making a new control bar

Greg at Board Riding Maui has reduced the typical bar to the absolute minimal solution, works great, and it's clean and safe! KISS principle taken to another level!

Check it out....!
