Re: How thick can I lay carbon fiber?

For gluing up there is a method of building a lip or ledge a few mm thick which slips inside the other half increasing the gluing surface for a stronger bond. I'll see if I can find a name for the process. It is very simple to do but difcukt to describe. Like the middle connection on a plastic East...

Re: Piq, Xensr or Woo?

Hmmm I don't know anyone locally that bought the $250+ Woo thats still working and not died.. Was that the first version? I read somewhere there were waterproofing issues with the firsts batches - all replaced under warranty. Woo 2 version seems fine, there are loads of them on the waters around he...

Re: Piq, Xensr or Woo?

That's funny. Quite strong views from someone who 'just' joined the forum. Are you the OP friend? Launching a new device from Scandinavia (you guys sounds like kick starting and doing a market valuation, remember my 'click bite')? I'm still waiting to see how can any gadget improve ones kiting? Can...

I want to start a fun side project to create a boat that can circumnavigate using a kite power system and set a world speed record.
I'd love to hear about your other main projects ;)

What about filling the kite with helium?

These look odd, yes. Is this from a Woo 2 and latest firmware? Mine shows smaller hops over waves inbetween jumps:

Re: Piq, Xensr or Woo?

People confuse progress in jumping with taking more risks. Looping the kite is enormous risk, so is going out when nuking wind. Taking a big kite as well (depends what is big for someone :) That's a generalisation of note. Yes, some people do progress simply by taking too big risks. And they will p...

Re: Piq, Xensr or Woo?

Hello! I've been thinking about buying an equipment that can measure my jumps. Specifically height and air-time. Should work on both snow and water. Would also be nice if it has GPS-tracking. So, do I get myself Piq, Xensr or Woo; or do I have other options? Which one gives the most accurate result...

Re: Help me understand Cape Town wind on the basis of this Windguru forecast

All this talk of TView made me want to kite there for a change, so I took the drive yesterday. But was it CROWDED! Forgot how busy this spot gets. Most guys were on 9s up until 7pm when it picked up quite a bit. My second session ended 10 seconds after it started when snapping chicken loop and leash...

Re: Help me understand Cape Town wind on the basis of this Windguru forecast

I don't use windguru, but windfinder for table view you can add at least 5 knots onto the normal forecast when S to SE. And 10knots at sunset. SW and NW is generally accurate, and sometimes even less than predicted. Thursday and Friday Tview, Saturday is light everywhere. Strand might work it the t...
