Re: Uber light wind Foil kite

There is a lot written in this thread about kites for light wind but very little is posted about suitable foils for light wind in conjunction with a lightwind kite. I see Turbaani has posted at the top of this page about trying a SABfoil 800 wind compared to the type of wing a lot of kiters use the ...

Re: Wingfoiling in 5 knots

Screen Shot 2023-05-11 at 11.43.26 AM.png I would enjoy seeing the video, but not that bad. Just FYI to the content creators that their video might go farther on a different platform. Agree, other platforms would be way better, and I honestly HATE Instagram - the worlds stupidest video format ever....

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

With the hybrid you feel much less the kite and surfing is really surfing and gliding... So far still very happy with this kite. Nayy Exactly! Using the Hybrid is riding the foil not so much flying the kite. The Hybrid looks after itself, you can focus on riding and surfing the foil without a big b...

3 meter or smaller trainer kite.

3m peak tops out for me at just under 30 knots. A 2.5m Flysurfer hybrid is the only kite remotely tempting me these days.
Try it :D :D

Re: Hydrofoil storm kite options

Wait, Sonny, I just realised who you are, fellow StKilda local, and having some idea of your current riding style, I'll add these comments, and leave the post above unedited for general consumption. Whilst you're still riding with straps and a wide stance and hiked out away from the foil, you may b...

Re: Small (below 5m) kites

Sorry for my late repley: @drsurf: I really can Not Imagine starting a hybrid, in 25knots Sandblasting gusty (Sotavento) conditiones😀. But also good Idea! Actually starting a 2.5m Hybrid in 25 knots, where blowing sand can bury a surfboard in 10 minutes is exactly what I do. And it's a hot launch w...

Re: "The Hybrid" from Flysurfer

I've spent a lot of time on the 3.5m & 2.5m Hybrids over the last 6 months as well as the 4m & rarely the 5m Peak5. They are different kites even though they share many characteristics in common. It's also a little hard to compare like with like when the sizes don't line up and .5m can be a signific...

Re: Small (below 5m) kites

Sorry to dig Out this old toppic: Target for me: smallest Kite for foiling in abouve 25knots My 4meter section will get big above 25kn.... I have been in contact with several users with a Ozone Uno 2.5m and they are quite Happy. (For aprox 400-500 Euro, IT would be OK) Question: has anyone tried th...

Re: Foil kite size for light wind

Try a Flysurfer 7.5m Hybrid. You don't need much kite when you're on a 633 and the Hybrid's are great when you're learning with easy relaunch.

Re: What's the smallest kite you are able to use in light/moderate wind?

Bearing in mind my weight is 67kg, it is amazing how low I can go with small kites. The largest kite i use is a 5m Peak5 and I much prefer my smaller kites, 4m Peak5 and 3.5m & 2.5m Hybrids. The difference in wind speed required between the 4m & 5m Peak5 is only 1 or 2 knots and the key capability r...
