Re: Board Rescues...

I havent put it into practice but a guy who rescued my board told me you can do it by placing it on ur lap and doing a water-start. mayb easyer as sometime boards don't like to be easily picked out This is my favourite technique... I also pull my stopper way down so I can easily steer the kite with...

Re: New quiver with low bar pressure

Ocean Rodeo rise (2008, and probably 2009 as well) all the way.... lots of hang-time, and very low bar pressure (my tendonitis has completely dissapeared!!).

Bar pressure is so low, it takes a few sessions to adjust... but, once you do - you'll never go back :)

Re: Buggy/car rental in Brazil

Great advice!! Thanks so much :) We're actually arriving early in the morning - so renting a car at the aiport (or in Fortaleza) is an option for us. We sorta want to travel solo, so sharing a 4x4 isn't our preference (on this trip). We do plan on spending the first day or two in Cumbuco... to get s...

Re: Buggy/car rental in Brazil

thanks for the info... 50 reais isn't too bad, maybe we'll just rent a car for the majority of the trip - and see if we can get a buggy for a few days.

Is it better to rent in Fortaleza or Cumbuco? or.... is that totally irrelevant?

Re: Buggy/car rental in Brazil

We won't be using the car to get to Fortaleza, in fact... hopefully we won't have to go back there until we go home! We plan on spending most of our time in smaller, less busy, locations! We're not really after any night life... Would a buggy be suitable? I'm most concerned its going to be too $$ or...

Buggy/car rental in Brazil

Hello... My boyfriend and I are heading off to Brazil for 3 weeks in November. We really want to get the most out of short our trip - so I figure renting a car or buggy is a must! (4x4 definitely too expensive). With the recent changes in currency, I know this trip is going to be $$$ so budget is a ...

Re: Wind conditions on Oahu

Thanks for the tips... doesn't sound like there's much chance of Kailua going off then? If the waves are even remotely large - I probably won't even try to kite on the North Shore.

any other advice still appreciated!

Wind conditions on Oahu

I'm off to Oahu for starting Saturday for a week... I'll be staying on the North Shore but will have a car. I know conditions aren't the best this time of year but I'm hoping to get a day or two in. Does anybody know of a good website that has current conditions listed for the different spots on Oah...

I'm very sorry to hear about your wife... but happy to hear you're watching out for your kids.

I have a light blue Dakine wide brimmed hat too!!

For those of us that DO cover up and wear lots of sunscreen, don't forget to take lots of Vitamin D suppliments!!!

I'm 31 & very fair.... I've been careful with the sun my whole life wearing sunscreen/covering up etc.. (but haven't avoided it either, and have slipped now and then...) I was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma almost a year ago (on my leg), the mole wasn't irregular but I made my doctor remove it an...
