PU hoses need to fit very tightly over the inner rope, I even prefer to force it over the spliced on the end to prevent sand and dirt creeping inside the tube. This way the PU wears down with the rope inside untouched. All the problems with PU comes from lazy design and manufacturing where they fit...

I finished my frankenbar. 433 g total with 23M sk99 lines.
Now to test it in controlled conditions.

Do you know how much the SK99 lines weighed by themselves? I have bee trying to find specifications on the weight of SK99 line, but so far no luck.
