This is very true and correct FO, indeed. The thing is just, that in most places (I understand that you kite in very non-populated free areas, right ?), there are lots of other kiters around, and children and bystanders and parents with baby carriages walking by - and friends, family etc. etc. So in...

When your kite falls in the power zone (even on a light wind day) and your board is underwater holding you back and your leash is completely streched out and you begin to fell like your on a medieval torture stretcher and your leg is as long as it will go.Don’t look back at your board!!! I a...

I have released the kite many times. When things seems wrong, just release it!. This is a very important aspect of using a kite leash, you could effectively depower the kite without loosing it. If you don't use kite leash, releasing your kite is usually not an option until things go real bad. Exact...

"wearing a board leash has saved my life and not wearing a fixed kite leash has also saved me once" How ? Quite interesting, and difficult to imagine the situation. Steady wind ? Light wind ? "steady/ medium= safe as pie" I think we are forgetting something very important here - above is JUST the ve...

Cyclone, It's (the swivel) working really well on the water as you can see in the previous posts. The jellyfishing is indeed a problem in overpowered conditions. OK so that means at least 7 people (everyone ive spoken to) say that they jelly fish.... BLOODY HELL, do these people (naish, gaastra) bo...

as someone who doesn't wear a board leash i would say not wearing it has definately saved me from injury. and wearing my kite leash has saved others from potential injury and me from loosing my kit. Well said SQ - it is as simple as that :thumb: Not wearing a board leash saves your life, or from ge...

I completely agree with Cosmodog. The UDS really doesn't work as a safety system since you have to pull on two QR's. If, as Peter Frank said, you are supposed to ride out of the loop, then the whole thing seems even more stupid to me because if you want freedom from the bar and not have your depowe...

Look at http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2298016 The 125 is a very small board, just so you know. But my favorite too. I am riding all 3 "surfaces" - the Carbon (only the wave model), the Wood, and the Mirror. The Mirror is just a tad heavier than the other surfaces, because of the met...

Thanks to everyone for your inputs. Interestingly, I ride a small board to keep from being overpowered on the water during the big gusts. Then, I fly a bigger kite to keep from being underpowered in the lulls. This combo gives me my best range. There are tons of combos that will work, I just don't ...

Re: X3 only for experts ? Can I replace my AR5 by an X3 ?

As I am not a kite expert at all I need some help of those who have flown the X3 and probably the AR5. After 20 years of windsurfing I started kitesurfing two years ago. I use a Naish AR5 9.5 and a Naish AR5 11.5, with a Naish directional 6.6" I almost never used the 9.5 as I still prefer windsurfi...
