I think most folks wont do the math and .the 7m is the smallest i have, and if i need something smaller i am sitting that session out. One of those days it ramped up to 35+ and it was a pain in the ass to rig the kite, and so on. And i just bailed.. Rule of thumb: small board + small kite when wind ...

Today in the OBX, the wind is 22-27. I have my small quiver of boards 155 lightwave, 148 Spectrum, 137 Ace. Looks kinda choppy out there right now. Is there a rule of thumb for selecting the board by wind conditions?? Rule of thumb: small board + small kite when wind is nuking; big board + big kite...

Wind conditions dictating board length?

Today in the OBX, the wind is 22-27. I have my small quiver of boards 155 lightwave, 148 Spectrum, 137 Ace. Looks kinda choppy out there right now.

Is there a rule of thumb for selecting the board by wind conditions??

Thanks everyone!. Real is $500 for 3 hours, KHK is $300. for two. I have the slingshot flight school with the different masts, but only brought the 15" this trip.The wind today and tomorrow is in the 7-9m kite range and I will prolly have to wait to go out alone at Salvo or KOA or bite the bullet......

Foiling lessons: Ouch

Now that I am staying upwind, I want to brush the dust off the foilsetup I bought last fall. Do I crash and burn or do I suck it up and take some lessons? I am in the OBX and dropped in on REAL and asked about foil lessons. YEEOUCH!!!!! $500. for 3-hour lesson. omes with instrutor and jet ski action...

The conditions here in the OBX are very good for the next few days. I am in my popup camper right now at 2 in the morning watching this thing shudder with every gust. I am glad I strapped this thing to the sun shelter....The water is really warm and the wind is steady..... A good time to make the dr...

I like this forum for generic worldwide information. I know it takes a lot of time to manage a forum like this. Kiteforum is a general forum. I thought it would be nice to have a section for local KBs like perhaps OBX, or DELMARVA. I dunno, There ae still a lot of folks on here!
