Re: Jumping=new love of my life!

yes, sure with woo.... but hey I measured it also with woo when I was using TT. And it definitely is much higher with foil. But in my spot we almost never get winds over 20knots. I am sure that in 20 knots the difference is small or could be the other way around.

Re: Jumping=new love of my life!

Hi, I have noticed the same. Jumping high is a lot easier with foil. Landings are easier the smaller the wings are. I have zeeko spitfire which is perfect for jumping. TT riding in lake conditions I could jump 5m. Foiling I can jump over 10m. I can jump 10m in 8 knots when my TT friends just dream t...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

If I'm not interested in maximum upwind angles (foil boards go enough upwind with any kite) or maximum speed, (I'm not participating competitions), is there any reason to choose chrono or sonic instead of soul? Is jumping performance much better with race kites like sonic, compared to soul or speed...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Once you have loosened those bolts and they would have to have got loose to bend, then you will have to check the surfaces for flatness and proper mating. Considering the horrible number and type of landings plus full speed sandbar speed humps I’ve put mine through. And it’s still perfect. I’d say ...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

No I have not. I would love to. I meant low aspect sorry not low performance. We don't have any of those in our local club yet. Our FS retailer also foils and he tried it 2 weeks ago. He did not like it. But that doesn't mean it is bad. He is just race oriented. He tought tacks where a lot harder wi...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I love my spitfire. It is fantastic piece of kit for big air. However it has weak spot. The Connection between mast and base plate is very shallow compared to all other aluminium foils I have had. In my foil this connection broke down. Screws are bend and mast is damaged a little. Baseplate is loose...

Re: Marginal wind kites ?

For low light I use sonic 2 18m. I kite in small lake. The bigger the kite the better it handles lulls. My 12m drops like a rock when the wind goes below 2m. However same type of kite with same cloth has no problem when it is 18m in size. When you are foiling lulls drop you down to the water surface...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

I kite in small lake and sonic 2 is very stable. Of course low aspect (edit was low performance) kites are more stable like hyperlink or soul. Because they cannot get to the edge of the wind. However you can tune your race kite so that it behaves like soul or hyperlink near shore. You just shorten t...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono,Hyperlink, Soul

I would consider easy race foil like Peter lynn Aero (v1 used or v2), flysurfer sonic 2 or ozone chrono. Sonic 2 is awesome kite. Launching is super easy, relaunch is quite easy, jumps like animal, goes well upwind. Range is really good with race kites because you can park it further to the edge of ...

Re: how long is too long?!

Depends where you launch. In our lake 18m is bit on the long site. But if I had wide beach as a launch site I would put 30m lines to my largest kite.
