If you ride in salt water, sooner or later you'll get salt water in the leading edge bladder. After a time, the salt water will cause small salt crystals to form inside the bladder. When that happens, it's a good time to rinse out the leading edge bladder with fresh water. What I do is put about a h...

I've had a Kestrel for about 3 or 4 years now. Don't know if it's a model 2000, but it has worked very well, and when checked against other wind meters appears to be very accurate especially in higher winds.

Cabrinha powerlok bar on Naish Aero II's and Boxers???

Has anybody rigged Naish kites on powerlok bars? I've got both Cabrinha and Naish kites and really like the powerlok feature of the Cabrinha bars. It helps a lot to lock in full power when you wter start and weigh 205 lbs. I don't like having two loops (fixed and chicken loop) on the Naish bar. I as...

I also have the Coleman pump

You can get it at most outdoor sports stores for $30. On a 17m or 18m kite, it leaves you about 30 to 40 manual pumps after it finishes its part. Less on smaller kites. If you have Cabrinha kites, it inflates much faster through the large dump valve than the smaller tube valve. Takes about 2 minutes...

Are there any kiteboarders in central Illinois?

I'm in Peoria and am wondering if there's anybody kiteboarding in central Illinois on the Illinois river, or Illinois/Iowa on the Mississippi river or any other location that is within 3 hours of Peoria (Chicago, Madison Wisconsin, etc.). Started kiteboarding at South Padre Island, Texas in July and...
