Re: My first real self rescue today

Had to do a one self rescue this Friday on my 11m 2011 crossbow. Riding with some busted up ribs and fell off the raceboard. Crashed the kite when I went into the water. Tried to relaunch but every time I did the ribs started to scream at me. Figured I'd just self rescue so I deployed the IDS. Kite ...

Re: Top Windsurfers said to take up Kiteboarding for Rio 201

RRS section 1 rule 2 and the preamble to the rules listed under basic principles both discuss sportsmanship. I personaly wouldn't protest over an unregistered kite but I'm an equipment anarchist. You should protest over port starboard infractions when there was no way the other guy could have though...

If you have a spare bar and like tinkering it's fun to play with the 4:1. It makes blast reaching more fun. Where you at?

Re: Gorilla Racing Bar

The class rules are actualy kind of ambiguos on the flaging leash thing. C.3.1 SAFETY AND LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT (a) A detachable kite leash shall be used. The Notice of Race and the Sailing instructions may change this rule. C.8.2 LINES SAFETY SYSTEMS Lines shall have a depowering device. C.8.3 BAR ...

Re: Using HVAC pump for vacuum bagging (doubts)

For twin tips I have run my cheep China knockoff pump for hours no prob. It vaporizes a tone of oil into the air and you don't really want to coat your glassing room in oil. You'll get bonding issues. I tried a milk jug with paper in it. That cut it down a bit. Now I just pipe the exaust outside. My...

Re: Fixable raceboard?

Cool. You should take some side on closeups around the fin box. Did he cut it with a jig saw? Remember to note where the box was before removing it. Not sure if it would be simpler to do before or after. Is it a sandwich construction board? If you have some scap divinycell or airex or like material ...
