Re: Ice Carver - The only solution for Ice Kiting

For the ice carver video, the first two minutes is not very impressive. A well-tuned snowboard can work reasonably well in those conditions. The last minute is good stuff, but I believe that kiteboardonice.com came up with a very similar product at least 15 years ago. I haven't tried either. I now l...

Re: 5mm Wetsuit Boots - How tight ?

You should always keep in mind that if anything you wear is too tight, it will cut off your blood circulation, and you will get cold faster. I'm actually in the market for a good pair of boots, or booties ... I live in Florida where the water does not usually get frigid, so, whatever... My only requ...

Re: Elastic on bar end replacement

I used (I think) 2.5 mm bungee cord from West Marine on my liquid force mission control bar. It was pretty easy to replace.

Nice video.

If you are well-powered you can practice all the basic elements of this trick in deep water.

Re: looking for bar to foil with

Can you guys point out of any major kite manufactures sells bars similar to these mentioned above? This is my new idea to an old problem: www.wheeliekite.com 2.JPG1.JPG My opinion is that this is an interesting idea, but it needs some long rollers on the top and bottom in order to make it plausible...

Re: Are Carbon Bars worth the extra price?

You'd think carbon would be cheaper than gold, which seems to closely match the current asking price for a modern bar.... I had carbon Flysurfer bars sometime around the very late 90's or early 2000's, and they were included with the kite. Now I am mostly foiling, and my current favorite is the now ...

Re: Hydrofoil anchor?

I saw one in use at least a few years ago. It looks fun, for sure, but I think the novelty might wear off quickly. One of the things that struck me about the rig I saw, was the the foil was a somewhat crudely shaped plywood lamination, and some part of the rig broke on the guy using it. There is obv...

Re: Why a Wing Board and a Kite is Awesome for the Lightest Winds

Yar,

In the video demonstration, he says he’s on a 15 meter kite, but he says he probably should have been on an 8.

Not the best pitch to sell the techniques described…

Re: Why a Wing Board and a Kite is Awesome for the Lightest Winds

Seriously, I don’t get it. There’s plenty of reasons to use a larger hydrofoil wing in light wind, but a high-volume board will only make it more difficult. These huge wings offer enough lift to easily body drag upwind against the wing, and with a big wing body dragging is almost like using a small ...

Re: Once again A failure from Naish

Either you somehow ended up with the wrong screws or there has got to be some washers missing… how could they possibly have intended for a tapered machine screw to go into a flat hole?
