Re: Best micro board on the market

Note that slingshot also has a similarly priced pump board. https://slingshotsports.com/collections/foil-boards/products/puddle-pumper-v1 I guess there might be more if you look for it. Same shape but I'm betting that's a kg heavier. "The Puddle Pumper is built in a compression molded construction ...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

I think low-wind range is really personal, but I’m glad you’ve found a path that makes you happy. I have no doubt the 3.5m Hybrid can be ridden by someone your weight well below 20kts, Kites that have a long and decent power surge when you loop them make them extremely easy for foiling. When you ha...

Re: Best micro board on the market

Another good inexpensive option might be the new takoon pump board: 90cm/10L for 400 euro. Very nice looking board. Why don't they want to market it for kitefoiling? Looks like it has a nice rocker line too. The only thing that is a question mark for me is that they use carbon fiber stringers/batto...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

It seems the 2.5 and 3.5 are excellent, and have the "Peak" quailities somewhat intact in terms of acceleration and spike? And then from 5.5 and up it goes down the drain abruptly, just like Peaks over 6 m2, no fun... Makes sense  8) Peter In some ways they are better high wind kites than the...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

hawk 4/5/6 are great small kites for hydrofoiling, if you focus on surfing and curves. Hawks are amazing for the price (I previously owned a 4 and an 8m) but if they were lower aspect and hybrid single skin then they would be much much better for surfing and curves. I vote for a Jumel hybrid - that...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

The depower of the kestrel is special, because the kite won't surge with an instant power spike like others would do... Similar to the idea they had on the flysurfer speed 3 - but there it was adjustable? From the manual: "A distinctive feature of the Speed3 is the Valve placed in the middle. This ...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

Interesting observations - thanks. Sounds worth trying out. The FS hybrid is actually really hard to stall compared to other single skin/hybrids. Mayby stalling is the wrong word - from a certain point nothing more happens. Thats what I mean by "usable depower range". Fine control of power over a l...

Got a lot more of useable depower, before that mod it was flapping hard after pushing out the bar, after mod. it was turning...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

Thats normal for most Flysurfer Foil kites. You need to make Backlines ~10cm shorter, B ~2..3 cm longer and C ~1..2 cm longer if you want them to feel crisp and reactive. Flysurfers trim is very beginner friendly and soft. But I do this or similar on most of my kites, so it may be my personal taste...
