Re: 2015 North Dyno vs 2014 North Juice.

Can you share pictures of the new Dyno bridle connection method? Can't find any on the North site.

Bridles not connected to the leading edge is a huge departure from any kite I've ever seen.

Gotta see that to understand it...even better if you have a video of that kite in flight...thx

Re: Cabrinha 2015

Heinz,

Yup, I was referring to the picture from the camera that is attached to the center strut looking down at the beach (in B/W).

I stand corrected. Now that you point that out, yes, that triangle logo, and the A on the far right would match up with "CONTRA"

Re: Miami area any beaches?

On a windy day, there are several boats that take people out to flats around Miami - one day last season I counted 55 kites in the air on the west point flat during a south wind - it was too crowded for my comfort. Then you have Stiltsville, which is an enormous area to kite in (any wind direction),...

Re: Cabrinha 2015

OK, I'll bite since the B/W overhead shot by Rick was obviously approved to be published

I count 3 struts on a kite with curvy tips.

Curvy tips rule out the Vector or Drifter shapes...so, must be a 3-strut Switchblade.

Is that the big secret?

Re: The BS requests to remove PR material, Cab and Naish

Early release of photos of new gear before announced will tend to dry up sales until the new gear hits. To mitigate this effect, they should quickly follow up with full press release and delivery. Someone is getting paid the big bucks to do it as they are...May/early June for next year models is qui...

Re: Cabrinha 2015

Looks to me like still a recoil spring...why? Look how the power/depower straps are stretched and hug the main line. How else are they being pushed down? I think the spring is there, but it is black now and can't be seen well in this pic. In this zoom, you can see what might be the spring. More inte...

Re: Max speed on a TT?

I clocked 33.0 knots on a TT 155x45 door, 21-22 knots wind, 16 m Havoc, very shallow water (6 inches of water, mushy soft bottom). Absolutely no chop, at most tiny ripples. Garmin GPS in pocket. I'm pretty sure others go into the low 40 knot range in similar conditions on better equipment. What made...

Re: Bungees to fine tune your lines

hightimes It's not about the amount of tension, it is applying enough tension so the lines can be compared side by side. If you want lots of tension, connect them to a tree and lean on the bar with your body weight. If you can identify a line that is 2 cm less than the rest while pulling hard on the...

Bungees to fine tune your lines

Haven't seen this method discussed before. I've always tied off to a hard connection and then leaned on the bar to check lines, like in so many videos. Now I think that method hides small differences. If you really want to see the subtle differences in your lines, try with bungees. The first pic sho...

Re: SLiiCK Kite Line Wax

In defense of the line wax idea, I see wear areas on my lines where they cross and rub together after looping the kite...too much of that will definitely shorten the life of the lines. Non-withstanding the dirt/sand attraction problems, lubrication where they rub can't hurt.
