I haven't seen the article, but I grew up in Naples. WAY back in the day it was possible to go to beaches that required a hike. Sadly, that's no longer true. I suspect from your description that it may be the beach just north of Clam Pass adjacent to the "Registry" hotel. The hotel was not allowed t...

thats a joke right, we used to do that as kids. You would hope so, but it appears to be legit. Google now does patent searches (in addition to equations, phone numbers, definitions...) Type "patent 6,368,227" into Google. You'll get the "swinging patent". Don't admit you did that as a kid or you'll...

Around Silicon Valley the biggest reason to obtain patents is to raise VC money. The cheapest way to prevent another company from patenting your idea is to simply put the idea into the public domain. Either publish the idea, or build it, sell it and document it. This keeps you from later getting a p...

Best tips I've come across in a good while! Thanks for posting. I practiced today with some spare bladder material and a travel iron. I found it needed a relatively high setting on my iron (low end of cotton). VERY old iron - maybe that's the difference. I know I'll use your technique. Thanks again....

>> I've seen schlubs in the U.S. spend $3-5000.USD for a patent, only to discover that it cost 10x as much to defend it. << I think I've got you beat. We've defended a couple of patents at my company for far more than that. At one time we were spending over $300,000 per month to defend one - DOH! As...

Using the different front pigtails has the following effect: By moving to the inner (more rearward) front pigtails you cause the kite to fly more on the front lines. You can still sheet in on the rear lines to get the same AOA as you could in other positions. If fact you can still oversheet. However...

I buy the standard Q-Power line from Noah Poritz 800-334-9363 or 406-586-5111 (Bozeman, MT)

I think it currently goes for 0.20/ft (yellow, orange, or white).

You know a couple years ago I whacked the side of my knee with a windsurfer. I can't tell you how, but now the knee is so noisy it wakes the neighbors when I get up to take a leak (so yes, you may be retarded; but you're not alone). The soccer shin guard seems like a reasonable idea - but *please* t...
