Re: Spitfire with standard stab and XL wing

I wondered about this combo but never tried it because I always forgot to take smaller wings with me to the beach. I've been riding Armstrong foil since May, but will get the Spit out for a reunion soon and try the smaller stab.

Re: Boom! Cabrinha has been sold!

Did Neil Pryde give up on their dream to monopolize kiteboarding in Olympics?

Re: Tef gel, cooper slip, silicone for bolts

Tef-gel is very sticky with a high adhesion to surface which makes it work very well. Protective film it creates is hard to remove. Tef-gel is PITA if you disassemble parts often because of that stickiness. Other grease works fine as long as it is non-conductive and contact surfaces are well covered...

Re: Horue E-Foil Waviator

Me thinks that for 5800 euros one can get a high end e-mtb which is more fun for no wind days than any of these other toys.

Re: Los Barriles

I second Los Barriles for foiling. I go there pretty much every year around Christmas. I like it better than La Ventana although I only spent one day at LV. The beach in LB is better, less rocks, swell seems to get bigger and tends to be less crowded at preferred parts of the beach than LV. LV might...

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

I got sloppy when replacing the rope. now it is a bit slack (longer "A" dimension) could be as much as 5-6 inches. Still works fine, enough reach for me. I found that having quick release too close to the spreader on my Vega sit harness (using Slingshot Talon metal loop) was detrimental to the comfo...

Never having tried monofoil, i wonder if a canard feels like a monofoil with more pitch control.
Not really. Spitfire is lot more stable than mono and closer to a regular foil by comparison, even with small wings.

Re: Broken Strut

Mike Murphy came by our spot last weekend. He seemed to care more about not cashing out on this foil craze rather than what that thing is called

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Tried riding mono couple times and would appreciate some pointers. The setup I'm using is Gong surf wing medium size (I think it is the same as the one in picture above). The board is Levitaz Exo first gen. When I setup foil with the stab, mast position worked out to be all the way back. After remov...

Re: Sliding spreader bars

they are great for toe side. no problem with most jumping either. I found the wear on the rope is rather small when foiling as I'm not as powered up as on TT. Also using regular plastic coated chicken loop/QR loop wears out rope less than stainless ring or rope specific chicken loop metal replacemen...
