Re: Fastest Turning Single Strut Kite?

Old Mono was not in the same league as Alpha and Ultra for single strut lightwind performance, is it now comparable?

Re: Shark Encounters

I live in Stuart Florida and kite all the time. There are TONS of sharks here. I have many gopro shots just like Rick's with sharks nearby while kiting. People shark fish here and catch lots of lemons, spinners, blacktips, bulls, hammerheads, and tigers right from the beach. Several times I have jum...

Re: We should be wearing sunglasses throughout the day and especially while kiteboarding! Why aren't we?

The answer to the topic headline question: Because most kiters don't live in the tropics and most kiters don't kite very much in reality.

However I agree everyone should be wearing sunglasses regularly, again check out the Electric John John Florence, amazing but expensive

Re: Airush Razor 2021 (and other Airush Kites) reviews

I fly a 9m Airush Ultra and self roll launch/land, same kite for at least the past 3 years (500+ sessions) and kite still flies great. Quality is absolutely superb and I highly recommend this brand.

Re: Florida kiting for beginners

If you are good at foiling (ie. can ride high over knee deep areas etc) then you can foil all around in the keys, problem is the launches. 99% of the waterfront is private and there are very few beaches in general. November can be okay, December can be good. It's variable but with a foil you will de...

Re: Would someone buy a kite from 2003?

I used to have that exact same kite, bought it from cameron dietrich back in 2003 or 2004, it was basically worthless back then even when it was cutting edge

Re: Florida kiting for beginners

Othersideboardsports.com in the Florida Keys is the spot. East coast of florida and especially SE Florida is bad for beginners (relatively deep right offshore, lots of beachgoers who will sue you, lots of restrictions that will fine you). Go to the keys and get out in the shallow flat water plus you...

Re: Question for contact lens wearers

I kite and do various watersports constantly all year long and I always wear contact lenses and have for 20+ years without ever losing one. Occasionally they get knocked around and need a minute of blinking but that's all. Also the Electric JJF sunglasses with side-shields are incredible for kiting,...

Re: Wing thing any fun without proper waves?

I've only winged a bit but I prone foil surf approximately 5 days/week and kite foil regularly, including this morning. Get an Axis setup. I have lots of foils and the Axis is the best because you can upgrade whenever you need and they have a huge variety of parts, also relatively cheap and durable....

Re: Surfer's eye - pterygium

I am on the water everyday and it is very very sunny and bright where I live. I have gone through a variety of sunglasses and have found the holy grail: -Electric John John Florence sunglasses. They have removable side eyecups to reduce side-light, unreal polarization, hydrophobic, and look good (ey...
