Re: How to make a KF Box board compatible with 4 bolt hydrofoil?

The easiest way would probably to buy the KFbox head matching the mast of the same brand because of the mast screw spacing. If you live outside Europe, for export the gong set (90cm mast + KFbox head) in USD would cost (79 + 39) x 1.15 /1.2 = 113USD + shipping Then you have to adapt a plane : either...

Re: Swap Gong Allvator & Moses Fluente

Have they abandoned the idea of carbon struts completely? The line-up of foils makes perfect sense to me. The concept seems to be based on the Go-Foil design. Their commitment to a comprehensive product line is impressive - assuming the quality is there. The light carbon version of strut + mast wil...

Re: Swap Gong Allvator & Moses Fluente

What is the screw spacing in the slot of the Moses Carbon fuselage ? I suppose the gong fuselage screw spacing had to be be aligned onto this dimension. What is the screw spacing in the slot of the Gong fuselage before the modification ? I want to know if the gong fuselage had to be redrilled to Mos...

Re: Learning on monofoil

Im thinking learing on a normal foil until comfortably foot switching is a good idea. Starting on mono is likely to result in even more porpoising for a beginner (way more sensitive luffing). And could get very frustrating / lose motivation. Even if able to learn to ride, other important parts like...

Re: Learning on monofoil

@Mede, you could also wait a bit for this promising design: 1380cm2, AR6, small reflex under the mast, 13% max chord to thickness ratio You can follow the development here Designer's comment (Gurval present on this forum) : "With each gust, the foil speeds up so much that I had to get used to it, bu...

Re: Surf/wave wing thickness and NACA profiles

Down loaded. I'll have a play. The airfoiltools.com site interfaces are also very handy for the missing NACA sections or the present ones with insufficient point number: http://airfoiltools.com/airfoil/naca4digit and http://airfoiltools.com/airfoil/naca5digit It also allows you to thicken or slim d...

I can't find 1409,2409,3409 on the tools website. I can find 1408,2408.
Why don't you make your own NACA 4 or5 digits ? :)

NACA 6 digits also possible with Github scripts....

Re: 3d printed titanium inserts

Plummet, very nice project. To prevent water infiltration, shouldn't the inserts be blind so that you don't damage the composite underneath if using too long screws ? It would need a bit more materials but printing time would be equivalent or slightly faster (1rst thickness being continuous) TI inse...
