Make the jump to a foil kite. The Flysurfer Soul and Ozone Chrono v3 are pretty forgiving as a first foil.
I second that!
I wish mcfly777 explained why he wouldn't consider a foil. Probably heard too many derogatory (and uninformed) comments from people who have never flown them.

Re: Learning with Zeeko Carver vs Green

I've got both, and also first though the Carver would be easier for the learning stage and more adapted for carving (what's in a name!). But after a couple of hundred hours on both, I find the White&Green easier and more predictable. It warns impending stalls with a sort of buffeting and there is no...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I do appreciate the increase of camber when powering, as well as the reflex providing stability when depowering. But not such much "adaptive canopy curve" (decrease of projected area). Why? Because to get the best going upwind in marginal conditions, you've got to counter-intuitively decrease the an...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

Update! To be fair, I must say Ethiopian Airlines in Addis Ababa finally agreed to pay USD 100 compensation and, more importantly, graciously apologise. Over 50 emails and 6 weeks to get to that point. I hope their agents in Antananarivo will be schooled and taught how to treat their customers accor...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

"Here's the thing though, that the referred compensation of $100 a day refers to your checked luggage, and by checked luggage I mean only your normal suit case with clothing in it. Those are the essentials: clothing, toiletries, shoes so that you're clean and not naked on the next day. " Did you mak...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

Is it actually the airlines or the airport staff? I think it's the Airline which is at fault for not respecting its obligation to compensate for costs. The airport staff share it's responsibility as they have been mistaken when they said I had to come to pick the luggage personally because it was r...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

Welcome to the club. Your story is far worse than mine. "Air Mauritius then made me sign a waiver that I accept the compensation, or else they would not give me my bags." Wonder if this is legal. I would have them sign what they told you. I had a similar issue with Air Mauritius/South African Airlin...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

If indeed it's the country's rules, it doesn't exempt the airline from its obligations to compensate for costs, damages and lost time associated with the delayed luggage delivery. Ethiopian Airlines' site boasts: "In rare event that delivery of your checked bags does not occur, Ethiopian will give o...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines fail

That's two of us. :-? Let's have a club! Is it the country, or the airline who wouldn't comply with standard regulations? What airline did you use? Sorry to hear about this. And thx for sharing! In Egypt they also don’t forward your luggage. You have to pick it up personally. I had this happening wh...

Ethiopian Airlines fail

If you fly to Madagascar, perhaps you should think twice before flying with Ethiopian Airlines. I recently flew from Bangkok to Antananarivo via Addis Ababa with Ethiopian, business class because I had 60 kg of gear, and wanted to ensure it got lost or damaged on the way. I thought "priority" meant ...
