Solving this problem was so important that the poms created a special secret team back in the 40's. They invented a special system whereby two lights (one on each of the riders feet) shone down at a precise angle so that the beams formed a V shape. When the beams shone on the same spot the kiter kne...

So you want more thickness? If you're ok with the tennis look you could wrap a couple of layer of racket grip around it or potentially some bike handlebar tape. Neither of these would look much good. It would be better to get some closed cell foam of the right thickness and shape and contact glue on...

Interesting idea. Do you notice the drag off the line when it is being towed in the water?

Do you think you could get away with a shorter one say 50-60cm long?

The summer is starting to wind down a bit now but if you're here for a year then you'll get a full season of riding anyway. I'm about your weight and mostly ride an 11m SLE with a 122 board. I also use one or two bigger boards so if I could take one kite and board only I'd go for something around 13...

I think you're right. To replicate the A-KPO you'd need another attachment point on the kite. In fact I'd guess that you'd need two attachment points, spaced either side of the existing front line attachment point. I'd be interested to hear how any experiments with this turn out. Have you flown the ...

he's right. Your heels are supposed to go on the side of the pad with the pointiest corner. Don't worry - I've made the same mistake with North pads.

The board looks good! How does it ride?

'kn oath I'm looking forward to trying them. I'll have to ask nicely though as I don't know the shop guys from Balmoral boards. If I do get a ride I'll be sure to tell. K-grom, the best palce to check kiting conditions in Australia is a website called http://www.seabreeze.com.au That site has wind c...

Best of luck eclipse. I'd be interested to have a ride of your products and will go through Balmoral Boards for a test run. The reviews to date have been pretty positive. By the way - what happened to the post by the Best rep slagging off one of the distributors that used to be in this thread? Is it...

As I understand it there is a fundamental difference between the concave TE on stunt kites and the concave TE on the recent SLE/Bows. On a stunt kite the concave TE helps reduce flutter at high airspeeds, similar to leech hollows on a sail. On an SLE/Bow the concave TE helps ensure that the TE profi...

My eyes get really wrecked kiting. They go red for days after a decent session . To try to reduce the effects, I use cheapy ebay glasses which float. They have an elastic strap but a decent stack will still knock them off my head. I have managed to find them every time so far but I'll probably lose ...
