Just bought the Bern Watts....I'll post again after I get to try it. I have the same issues. I don't want some huge chunk of plastic on my head. I like the visor, and it's small enough that it hopefully won't catch a bunch of water and snap my neck. On the plus side, I plan on using it snowboarding ...
Great video. For me...that is where I want to be with my kiting. I don't care if I ever ride with straps again. Can you guys put together a wipeout video? Just to let me know you don't nail these every time. My shins are taking a beating on the rail when I screw up my landings. Thanks for posting th...
Self launched my 10M in 45-55mph winds (suicidal, not stupid)....actually kited for 30 min in huge swell trying to keep my kite from moving at all....self-landing in the same wind. Probably the dumbest thing I've ever done in my life. I was completely alone with no one even around to identify my body...

It's actually a dvd, but you may be able to search on youtube for it. It's a good video if you are trying to progress. Maybe not as good as the Progression videos, but still good.
The Real "Joyride" video has a nice section on boat launching. Their technique allows you to keep your lines connected to the kite untangled for your next session. You will need to set up your kite on land with lines attached first (also on the video)...easy and safe. Good luck.
Should have stated earlier.... Just use what you have for a while. I'm assuming you are taking lessons...that's definitely the way to go. Once you are riding upwind confidently, then try some other boards. It would be a bummer to drop $600-800 on a new board you don't like. You won't know what you l...
I'm tall (6'7"), but 100 kg. Height doesn't matter for board size, but weight does. I ride a wider, flatter (less rocker) board than those who weigh less. I don't know specifically about those boards, but a wider, flatter board will be easier for you to waterstart and plane. Once you get better, dem...
I think the bottom end is very good. The relaunch is excellent, even in light winds. Smoothest kite I have ever flown...very easy to tell where it is, but the bar pressure is med/low. One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough is the durability. That leading edge is super tough...I've had it slide ...
