Re: Tether Launch - strong wind

Hey Herman! Good question - I happen to live in the pretty windy Columbia Gorge and have experienced this unfortunate tether bounce phenomenon a few times - it's worst on my smallest kites IME. My best suggestion is to place the kite WAY DEEPER than you expect by like 25-35 degrees so it's smashing ...

Re: Too many mistakes to list

Not much to say about the kiting part...

But I've always thought a pleasure yacht with wireless PlayStation controllers would be cool...

Hmmm

Re: Any bar gurus out there

North Bar Upgrade.png Hey Supachip1, So I have an idea for you. First the basics - the North / Duotone bar got a wonderful upgrade starting in 2018 which allows a super simple switch ability to go back and forth from 4 lines to 5 lines. This change is accomplished with adding a 2nd line to the meta...

Re: Help a big guy pick out a big board for big air

Hey SMJ, I'm akin to the poster that disagrees with everything he hasn't read, classic - but only in that I NEVER LISTEN TO THE LITTLE PEOPLE just as a matter of policy... I am 125kg in season, a bit more for winter and avid kiter but only going into my 4th season - 20+ years WS before finding the l...

Re: Gearo rental membership program

Hey Dave, Interesting concept - a few wrinkles for it to work in our sport. Seems like you would have some pretty massive risk handing gear out to the unqualified. Could see a version of a "club style membership" working at destination kiting locales which could provide some lesson / certification /...

Re: Bar and Line Maintenance

FYI - for North / Duotone bars... Found a niche provider off the grid in Poland. Check them out at www.kiteboardinglines.com Matz is a great small biz owner making top quality SK99 line sets for North/Duo bars - very low tech and a small leap of faith doing business internationally, but what better...

Re: drysuit with socks size question for those that use them

Merl, Congrats! Good decision except one thing - the "socks" we keep talking about are made of the same material as the drysuit itself (not latex). They CAN be added to replace the latex seals but you may need to find a shop or service with experience in mending drysuits - I am NOT an expert at all ...

Re: drysuit with socks size question for those that use them

SolarSet Just try a thin pair to start it's really more about comfort and to slide into the suit (aka not sweaty) - Your feet will NOT get wet - you only need enough to keep your toes warm. RINSE and REPEAT as needed based on water temps ...unless you have very sensitive extremities you likely won't...
