Should this bar be recommended for beginners? Or, is a certain level of kiting skill needed to safely use the bar. My concern would be that of a out-of-control beginner getting dragged by the kite, while the hook is positioned all the way to one side of the bar. What do the tests show about the abi...

Definatly go for the 12 inch spreader bar. Has more range of motion. Only go for the 10 inch spreader bar if your harness doesn't have enough adjustment to be tight enough with the 12 inch. Keep in mind that the spreader bar is more curved than most so even a big size will hug your waist well. Than...
