Re: North LTD Race board 2012

I've heard some other brands boards that are produced in the same factory are leaking through the strap inserts, therefor I filled them with silicone. This is the only reason, the screw itself does not need it, it holds perfect without any silicone.

Re: Slingshot Rally 10 and 12m overlap

I demoed a Rally 12 2012 of one friend. I ride Norths, so I would say in comparison to a North EVO in similar size it has a poor lowend, turns quicker though and has good depower. What I dont like on non North kites it's the bad kite-feedback on the bar, it was also quite noticible on the Rally. I'm...

Re: 3 kite race quiver for comp - what do you think?

Agree with most of your statement, but there has to be also a logical windspeed limit for a raceevent - in KTE 2011 it was 25 knots... I think its logical. I also would like to see someone "racing" in 35-40 knots on the one and only (biggest!) registred board!

Re: Who monitors the quality of production boards?

I have a long windsurfing background. A modern windsurfing waveboard with aprox. 83liters volume is about the same wolume, weight and price like modern kiteraceboards. With my waveboard I can jump high, hit the wave lip at cutbacks, do front- and backloops and the board lasts at least 2-3 years and ...

Re: Who monitors the quality of production boards?

Hey all, I know the shaper on Tenerife who could make the board for 900-1000 euro of better quality than RRD, Royal, etc. .... Ivan Still to expensive - ad a set of good fins (raceble, not sellable:) end you'll end up with a nice amount all together... 450-600EUR is what my boardbuilder could build...

Re: Who monitors the quality of production boards?

Your local experienced boardbuilder would build a board that would be strong, maybe a little bit heavier (15-20%) and for 1/3 for the price of the big brands. This is the price to pay for competition in producing as everything has to be build with minimal costs. Even in such small niche-market like ...
