Re: North Rebel 2010 Photos

They should change the name to weird element. I am just having some fun with it not knowing anything about it. But the the strait sections look kind of funny to me. Just a visual thing I guess.

Re: What Limits our Planning Speed compared to Windsurf ???

Longer boards have that directional stability. Because of the mast connection you are able to control the length. Just like the car with long wheel base is better on the highway than a short Jeep.

Re: Accident subforum?

I would not mind a link to the list of people lost in this sport. Every group honours and remembers their own. This could serve as a constant reminder of the dangers and warning to newbies.

Re: Las Vegas Kiter on life support- another horrible accident

What are we doing people? I remember when I bought my first Ckite from Best they had it in the manual and on the web site: Not even experienced heavy weights should use this equipment in over 35 knots or something to that extent. This has not changed even with the new equipment. If the wind is 40mph...

Re: A very sad day in Cape Town....

Self landing is a tricky thing especially way overpowered. There is not much on the subject from the manufacturers so everyone is trying their best with their piece of equipment. The universal thing to know is: do it over water, fire the safety with the kite low. I also start to believe after this o...

Re: Ginkites NazcaII small Test

If the Zulu II will come with 5th line, I am in. Go for performance, versatility and safety. Follow nobody. I got the bar setup that is unrivaled and would work with that CL so nicely.

Re: Deam!! Another dead fellas!

We have to keep our eyes open for beginners showing up anywhere trying to go out on a gear two sizes too big in the winds that are too strong even for intermediates. That's the lesson here. We have to try to talk them into not going out. Too many times I've seen guys giggling at the sight of beginne...

Re: Kitelooping video (Edit: foils)

I speak from own experience. Never had an inflatable collapse. On the other hand my Ozone winter kites being the best that I tried so far collapse all the time in gusty winds over 25 knots that's why I don't use rams on the water. I do kiteloops and for average middle age dude who works full time fo...

Re: Kitelooping video (Edit: foils)

I guess you have to be a little "Psycho" to kiteloop 6m that can fold like a napkin in strong gusty winds. If I wanted to play a Russian Roulette I underinflate my inflato to find out if it was my lucky day.

Re: Looping Kite - Safety Discussion

You don't think high a powered pellet gun would get the LE to explode? I am going to try this or ask those Myth Busters on cable to make a show out of it. How about Katana blade, eh. A guy on a seadoo cruising around looking for a looping kite to slice. I want to be that guy.
