Re: Advice on next wing?

Thanks! Sounds familiar to my wind ranges. Ive been on 6/4 and find myself going to the 4 as soon as possible (often underpowered), hence why Im thinking of 4/5. 4 feels like a magic size for me and I don't want to lose it. A 3.5/5 combo could also be interesting. Still deciding whether to keep my ...

Re: Advice on next wing?

Rode 4m/6m wasp v1 as main wings for a year. Really happy with them in all ways. The handle get floppy but that can be a positive...eg the big eva handles on duotone unit at stiff and comfy but give hand fatigue when wearing wetsuit gloves. Also, the floppy handles buys you a little more high end, ...

Re: is high wind winging any good?!

Good on ya Airsail. For a 2.5m, I suspect it would have be 30+ for me to consider it. And high 30s where I would consider it necessary, vs being on a 4m and spilling off wind. I hate being under powered, so I tend towards bigger wing than smaller, as being over powered is easy to deal with (relative...

Re: Tobago

I posted about this on another thread earlier this week on wing forum...copied below: "after a brief visit I will be super stoked to get back to Tobago some day. Pigeon Point has windy flat lagoon and soft foil waves outside. I was there in Nov, before wind season, I got out on a big kite and then a...

Re: is high wind winging any good?!

the question should be: is low wind winging any good? and the answer is: no. Winging in light wind can be super fun as long as there's waves to play. Even if the wind is low enough that you need to slog outside, waiting for a set, then pump into them. As long as a good surf set up where you can get...

Re: Recommendation for Jan-Feb Caribbean location to learn wingfoiling

there will be way more pro opinions on Carib than mine ... but after a brief visit I will be super stoked to get back to Tobago some day. Pigeon Point has windy flat lagoon and soft foil waves outside. I was there in Nov, before wind season, I got out on a big kite and then a sup session. Now, with ...

Re: The world's lightest wing is here

I only have a 5m so can't speak to the higher wind benefits yet. But my thinkng is that a stiffer frame with a small wing may similarly extend the wind range as for the big wing. So if a 3m isn't normally comfortable until 30kt, maybe it starts at 25 if frame is stiffer? So maybe a 5/3 quiver vs 6/4...

Re: Question for Wingers Who went back to Kite Foiling

Just for wingers who quit (perhaps no one here....) Anyhow, please list your reasons for going back to kite foiling. Thanks I know one windsurfer who went back to windfoiling. No local kiter reversions yet ... though I did use my kitefoil a few times this summer on light wind days and greatly enjoy...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Aluula & Hybrid Overview

Wow, that's fast! I don't follow racing, but I imagine that's up there. I think I've come close to that on kitefoil, but that seems less scary, kite helps get you away from the foil on a wipeout. Today I was out briefly in 25ish kt gusts with 5m, first time feeling it's higher end and towards OP. It...
