Quick epoxy fix for board advice

I got a second hand SS glider which I am planning on putting a little epoxy on this end and c-clamping it loosely with some wax paper in b/w the c-clamp and board. I tested this and the epoxy did not attach to the wax paper. That should fill in any vacancies in this small split I think and then I ma...

Re: The QR Thread: Kite instructors, how do you teach safety

This sport is unlike any sport I have done...I walked into my local shop for lessons in April thinking I could get a lesson in a week and ride waves and figure out if the sport was for me...that guy working in the shop must have been laughing at me. This sport is very involved, very intimidating, da...

First lesson mistake evaluation - assisted landing

Well I got to take my lesson yesterday, so that was kick asssss. Anyway, after 3 hours I went to land the kite at the edge of the window as instructed and I failed, so I asked the guy what I did wrong and he didn't give me any specific advice just said it is part of learning and I did pretty good my...

Re: The QR Thread: Kite instructors, how do you teach safety

I just took my first lesson and felt weird how things went. I've spent 3 months flying a trainer as advised on here and 3 months reading hundreds of posts on equipment and safety issues. During the lesson my instructor didn't have a chicken dick so he hooked my lease around the CL and the harness ba...

Re: Help me understand my equipment

Thanks for the replies...yes, my confusion seemed to originate from the Chicken Loop not detaching like many other models do. The leash only helping in case of the stick coming out makes sense now. After understanding this finally, am I correct that a 'suicide' setup only works unhooked? Seems if yo...

Re: Help me understand my equipment

edt, I read on here that with the LEI's once you get a couple loops the QR may no longer work...are your releases happening before this or soon thereafter? T, I am getting lessons as soon as the wind picks back up. I actually like flying my trainer and have been doing some cool shit with my SUP rece...

Help me understand my equipment

Bottom line.....I am looking for advice on how to utilize my equipment and kite control to almost eliminate the odds of getting a kite loop. I have flown my 3m Hyrda 300 trainer now for 3 months and I have never had an issue other than a nasty 10-15 looping experience that I will never forget in 30m...
