rrd humansize boards

Postby HighRise » Wed May 21, 2003 2:45 am

Has anyone heard anything about these boards. I saw one the other day and they looked really cool. I guess the all come in one length and width is what changes.
thanks

RRD Human Size 140/40

Postby Trip138 » Wed May 21, 2003 9:28 am

I bought a RRD HS 140/40 and had the chnace to ride it togeher with a AEROII Kite during my holiday in El Yaque in the last two weeks.

You are right there is only one length and you have to choice your needed width. The width depends on your weight and your kite.

My combination works perfect (80kg 175cm). My impression is as follow:
- good starting ability
- good edge power
- foot pads are well shaped and fits perfect
- light weight
- for my opinion the price is very high

I hope that helps you.

Jens

Check the flysurf.com site if you are good in french you can find some test report.

I have a RRD Humen Size 140/36 but the contest version it is lighter than the HS and it has 6 fins. I think it is a realy nice board I can hold 1 more beaufort with this board and jumps are more easier.

RRD HUMAN SIZE

Postby tux » Wed May 21, 2003 10:33 am

Yes Ricci has done 2 lines of boards all 140cm with differents wide:
32-34-36-38-40-42-44
Why all 140? because that was the space on His new car :wink2:
There are 2 lines, the normal one with 4 fins and carbon costruction.
and the contest one with 6 fins and without carbon, more flexible.
this series has 6 fins with double regulation forward or centre 6 fins are needed in 2003 kites like Rinho2 or similar with a lot of power.

When I saw these in a press release in the German magazine, kite-boarding.de... I thought: "Damn, this is where boards are headed."

I remember Dwight's comment to the effect; "you don't need over 140..." not long ago in response to a posting about longboards and longwater lines. Seems like a great idea.

Jesse, I'm glad you posted it. I was going to mention it, but didn't want to look like am idiot with some dumb statement like: "Damn, this is where boards are headed."

I'm two under 150 now vs. three over 150.

My RRD contest 140/36 is white why is yours red?

I think the red is better when you lose your board and try to find in the waves.

I'm agree with you red is better to find it if you loose it in waves.
Anyway they come this 2 ways, white marmorized or red with this custom finitures, tipical about Ricci for who knows his windsurf boards.
Is like kites, you have to choice if you whant it blue, red or yellow.

RRD kites review - input

Postby Vangelis » Tue Jul 15, 2003 6:57 pm

I am trying to find out information on the current RRD kite line, in addition to their website which doesn't offer much details.
Any suggestions? Also, any information on the new lines coming up?
Dates / availability / reviews?

Thanks for your input.
